Loved your storytelling here and listening to Sleigh Ride while reading this was SUCH a vibe. 🤌🏻

Thank you Sandra! <3 Glad that I could (1) do some shameless promotion of classical music and (2) share stories of people, places, and connections. Merry Christmas!

Aww thank you Liz!! This one was tough to write because the encounter itself was rather unusual, but I did come out alive to tell the tale haha :D

It's fascinating right, all the small things.. all that's behind the 1 liners in books that you mention!

Since I learned about the "butterfly effect" via the pop movie it's really hard to not see the randomness of life, in the micro that turns to macro, all the little things around all the "little lives" that amount to big changes in personal lives, or the Aral sea.

I wondered here if it was the old sea-priest-king encounter that prompted you prioritizing this story above all else?

Awesome story!

Thank you!! <3 And absolutely, the micro that turns to macro in randomness, or the snowballing of smaller things into bigger and bigger things, carries both the beauty and horror of the world. The surprise encounters and "little lives" that get lost in grand narratives are what prompted me to prioritize this story.

Such fantastic storytelling. What a pleasure to read. I agree with Sandra, the song is the perfect accompaniment :-)
